Flash! Bang! Whollop! What A Wedding! I think my Brides and Grooms think I’m a bit doo-lally when I tell them how much I adore details and personalised touches at weddings but not these guys, they absolutely got it. Bishops Waltham is one of the prettiest little villages you could wish to photograph in and when the stars align that you get a beautiful Church like St Peters, a fabulous couple with a ton of imagination and a rustic marquee wedding with oodles and OODLES of GORGEOUSNESS…well, I’m not going to be able to stop the excitement bubbling over.
This was as close to a ‘back yard’ wedding as I’ve had the pleasure of photographing…set in the the garden of The Hampshire Bowman (the most idyllic country pub you’ve even seen) was a stunning open sided marquee literally festooned with trailing ivy, bunting and lights…from every angle all you could see were utterly beautiful place settings, flowers and vintage artefacts. What astounded me was that for the first 15 minutes or so I had no idea that the marquee was ‘L’ shaped and when my fella called out to show me what was around the corner, I actually gasped and stood in stunned shock. Ladders full of flowers, a stunning cake table, polaroid picture station and a vintage china selection had me cooing like a gooden. Tucked away to one side were blankets for when the evening grew chilly and needless to say, more ivy, lights and bunting. One of the lovely bridesmaids actually stopped to ask if I was OK as I think I was looking a little overwhelmed!! It was magnificent and I do hope that the images show what an amazing feast for the eyes it was!
From the horse-box bar to the vintage toy car and hobby-horses that the children were scooting around on, this day was planned to utter perfection. And the happy couple were every part as magical as the rest of the day.
Barbara and Paul, not only do you make me smile, make me laugh AND make me cake (!) but you made me fall in love with my job all over again…and I didn’t think I could be more in love with it than I already was. Thank you. x
