Emma is one of those people you meet and decide instantly that you want to be best friends with, she is funny and warm and has ever such a slight air of mischievousness about her…how could Jack possibly resist! I love their story of togetherness, how Emma would frequent the bar where he worked and steal sidelong looks at him and how he would glance back just a little too often. I love how they say that they aren’t particularly the type for public displays of affection and yet how comfortable they look in each others arms. I utterly adore how with their girls by their side, they are a picture postcard of a loving family.
Emma and Jack are pretty inspiring, from their choice of wedding venue (Gliffaes Hotel is a fabulous country retreat, sat in the Welsh hills beside a fabulous river) to the gorgeous handmade dress and invitations….in fact, right down to their unflappable nature…they didn’t bat an eyelid when they were plunged into darkness for several hour thanks to a power cut (the weather was beyond hideous!) In fact, they both exclaimed that it couldn’t have been more perfect for them to be eating and enjoying speeches by candlelight!! Their day was seamlessly beautiful and surrounded by their most loved family and friends they became husband and wife together. I was so touched by the warmth and kindness from their family and friends (what a lovely bunch you are!) and later in the evening, I sat watching the children on the dancefloor, their faces alive with happiness. In that moment, seeing them holding on tightly to their newly-married Mummy & Daddy’s fingers, I found myself rather overwhelmed!
I knew when I met them that I would be bowled over by this gorgeous couple and I wasn’t wrong!! It might be the way that Jack looks at Emma as if he can’t bear to take his eyes from her, it may be the way that Emma closes her eyes as she lovingly wraps her arms around Jack or it may be because I can see the love for their children literally pouring out of them; either way, it’s utterly captivating and I’m so delighted that I can now call them friends.
Thank you, both, for allowing us the tremendous pleasure of photographing such a fabulous day.
