Paul remembers Julie as ‘the hot blonde with the stunning smile’ and Julie fondly recalls ‘gorgeous Paul from the 6th floor’…they met through work and after ‘years’ of knowing one another from a distance, they finally hooked up and I honestly wish I’d been there to witness it. Put quite simply, when Paul’s good-looks and mischievous nature met with Julie’s enigmatic smile and infectious laughter, they must have produced enough sparkle to rival the 2012 London Olympic opening. And the most magical thing? They still sparkle. REALLY sparkle. Enough that I can’t stop grinning when I see them together.
Paul asked Julie to marry him whilst visiting the Grand Canyon on the road-trip of a lifetime. After driving through torrential rain to view the incredible landmark, they cosied up at the viewpoint when Julie felt Paul rummaging in his pocket and thought to herself ‘is he seriously about to have a cigarette?!’ As she turned to him, she found him on one knee and heard him ask that life-altering question ‘Will you marry me?’ After many tears, exclamations and Paul reminding her that he was still waiting for an answer(!) Julie delighted him by saying yes and so they spent the first 10 minutes of their engagement enjoying the view and soaking up the magical realisation that it would be them together, forever.
On a dreary January evening I dragged myself from the warmth of my sofa and out into the cold only to find myself, shortly later, enveloped by the warmth and hospitality of this fabulous couple. I got home that evening and admitted to Geoffers that I had a great vibe about this couple and would love to be a part of their wedding journey. I literally hopped for joy when Julie got in touch to say they wanted to book me to photograph their big day at Elmers Court in Lymington.
Julie and Paul’s day was a vision of fun filled happiness in the incredible July heatwave…and they sparkled even brighter than I thought possible. Seriously, some people just make you want to squidge up in-between them so that you can bask, for just a second, in their magic… these are two such people.
