Wedding Photography Hill Place, Swanmore – Kelly & Ren

I remember the change in Kelly, the sparkle in her eye and smile constantly playing on her lips.  That was love.  Even if she hadn’t realised it yet, she was utterly smitten.

Kelly and Ren are the first to admit that the beginning of their relationship was unconventional…both suffering heartbreak, they were each others shoulder to cry on.  Throughout the late night phone calls, tears and text messages a chink of light began to appear and it didn’t take long for them to recognise the fizz of something new and exciting.

This beautiful, vintage, pastel wedding seriously pulled on my heart strings, the ceremony was especially heart-moving; I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!   Kelly and Ren’s unique touches were scattered throughout the day to make this not only the most memorable day of their lives but memorable for all their guests too  I asked Kelly about her vision for the day and what was most important to her…

I fell in love with Hill Place the first time I went there and knew that this was it the place I would marry, if Ren ever asked me!  You can imagine my delight when he proposed in the grounds of the house I loved so much, he wanted the moment to be perfect.  We wanted to compliment the house’s own style so opted for pastel tones accessorised with vintage props, such as suitcases the gorgeous restored bicycle.  It was important for us for our day to be as unique as us so I created my own brooch bouquet, spent time perfecting Ren’s button hole and created the floral centrepieces and quote cards for our tables.   We decided to rip up tradition, by opting out of having bridesmaids and ushers, speeches and cake and instead chose to have a drinks and canapé reception before the ceremony, lawn games afterwards and a cheese board selection in the evening.  One of the most magical and memorable moments for me was walking down the sweeping staircase to meet Ren where he was waiting at the bottom.  Together, with our children, we walked down the aisle and became a family.

When you see two people as perfect together as Kelly and Ren, being a wedding photographer is the best job in the world!  Thank you, both, so much for inviting us to be part of your day as well as allowing us the great privilege of photographing it, we shan’t be forgetting it for a long time to come!
