A week or so ago I caught up with Kelly, Tim and their little 9 month old son, Jasper for Kelly and Tim’s Pre-Wed Photo shoot.
I can tell you precisely how long I’ve known these guys for because I first met them in January of this year on the most amazing day of my life. As luck would have it, our babies share the same birth day and Kelly and I, sharing the same ward, formed an alliance. We became friends; sharing stories of sleepless-deprivation, teething and weaning…and the privilege has been all mine.
When I heard that there were plans afoot for Kelly and Tim to marry, I couldn’t help but hope that they might let me photograph their love…so you can imagine my excitement when they asked if I was free!
On the day of their pre-wedding photo shoot the weather was changeable…frankly…I’d call it dodgy. For the most part, the sun had been shining but as we edged closer to the shore, we found ourselves peering over our shoulders more and more as thundery clouds loomed over-head. I’d not been snapping away for more than a couple of minutes when great, fat, droplets began pelting from the sky. Aside from momentarily taking shelter under some trees, we did the only thing we could do…we ran! I was highly jealous of Jasper all snuggly and dry in his pushchair and was, instead, left feeling rather unfit next to these two running junkies! I trotted, huffing and puffing, all the way to The Old Ship where we took refuge, had a drink and I continued snapping away! Finally, the sun returned and we were able to step back outside and make the most of the beautiful afternoon light.
Thank you all, so much, for being such great sports…the light, weather and almost everything else were against us that day but you and your adorable little fella were stars. I’m sorry that Jasper was so under the weather (no one can be bright and smily with a stinking cold!) and I’d like to assure everyone that he is, ordinarily, one of the happiest little chappies you could ever wish to meet!
Lots of love, guys, enjoy the pics!
