Pre-Wedding Photography, Wickham: Dawn & Paul

I loved Dawn from her opening email to me in which she honestly told me that she was totally against having a wedding photographer and didn’t like having her picture taken. I actually grinned as I read the email, I’ve lost track of how many couples I’ve spoken to who don’t like the idea of having their pictures taken…I always feel so pleased that they’ve found the courage to get in touch!

Dawn and I exchanged numerous emails and I knew I liked her even before we met. I popped to her place one evening to talk about the plans for the day and had the pleasure of meeting her horses, her dog (who is the size of a horse!) and her fiance, Paul and I liked them all!!  We chatted about how I approach photographing a wedding, why I work the way I do and what they could expect from me…and I was ridiculously pleased when Dawn followed up our meeting with an email saying she wished to go ahead and book. I think I whooped!

Towards the end of last month, I caught up with Dawn and Paul again and we strolled through the woodland at 100 Acre Wood in Wickham. The rain didn’t let up and we all got rather damp but it was great to get to know them better, to see how naturally they laughed together and how up they were for playing on the log swing!

Later this month, Dawn and Paul will marry at Hill Place in Swanmore and I am pleased as punch that I’ll be there to document their special day.

Here are a few pictures from their pre-wedding session.
