I remember Lucy and Doug because of am amazing reading they did at a mutual friends wedding. I liked them because they had the guts to turn a Wham song into a wedding worthy reading. I was captivated by them when they got in touch about their wedding and I discovered that they were planning a wedding with a very newborn baby in their lives (in the early days of George’s life, my days were a blur of sleepless nights and nappy changes – I was hardly able to formulate a sentence let alone plan anything!) Finally? I was delighted and honoured when they asked me to photograph their wedding this year.
We’ve been sending emails to and fro for some time and I had such a good vibe about these guys! When I met them again for their pre-wed I was reminded why; they’re fun and chatty and just seem to spark off each other…there were plenty of giggles and a few lunges. I’ve never photographed lunges before. We met at Victoria Country Park as this is where Lucy and Doug used to go running together…now I know nothing about running (other than it LOOKS exhilerating but actually puts my body into shock when I attempt it and I am forced to stop within about 3 seconds) but I do, however, know that Doug has run a marathon and I’m just going to say it, I’m seriously impressed. I also feel a bit healthier from just standing next to him!
Accompanied by their gorgeous bundle, Jude, we strolled through the woodland accompanied by Lucy’s lovely friend (and bridesmaid to be!) Anna who kept Jude entertained whilst I stole Lucy and Doug away for a few shots…queue more lunging, more giggles and me almost tumbling down a hillside!
I’m so excited to photograph Lucy and Doug’s big day next month and will be sure to blog about it as soon as I’m able!
Enjoy the pics!
Anna did a fabulous job of entertaining Jude so that I could photograph his Mummy and Daddy together!
Wrapping up a pre-wedding shoot with a picture of the bride and bridesmaid to be! Fabulous! 🙂
