Another fantastic couple, another Pre-Wedding Shoot. Janet and Peter are two of the happiest, smiliest people I’ve ever had the good fortune of meeting. We’d had the pleasure of meeting before as we photographed Peter’s son’s wedding at the end of last year so were delighted when they came back to us to say that they wanted us to do the photography for their big day in September.
We met at, the very picturesque, Alresford train station and took a stroll through the town to the river. We chatted about the day and I was amazed by how wonderfully relaxed they are about the whole affair – everything is ready advance and they seem totally unruffled about the whole thing! I love Peter’s cheeky smile and the glint in his eye and Janet really has got an infectiously smily personality…it would be very difficult indeed not to like them!
Unfortunately, the weather was a teensy bit unpredictable…we kept having to dive for cover wherever we could to dodge the rain and found ourselves hopping and skipping around muddy puddles on the river walk but these guys weren’t in the least bit phased and carried on smiling regardless.
We wrapped up the shoot back at the train station and had the great fortune to time it with a train coming in. With the whistles blowing, engines hissing and the warm smog of steam all around it was like something from a bygone era and I couldn’t help feeling a little whimsical. I’m now desperate for us to take a trip along the Watercress Line on one of these beautiful engines!
It will be such a pleasure to photograph their marriage in September, we can’t wait!
