A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of photographing Natalie for a styled shoot and have looked forward to photographing her again ever since. Well, luckily for me she got in touch whilst awaiting the arrival of her first child and asked me to take some images in those magical first few days.
At just a week old, Leila already had her Mummy and Daddy wrapped around her little finger, an absolute vision of beauty surrounded by a family who had fallen utterly and completely in love with her. Not only was it fantastic to photograph them being a family but Leila was an absolute dream when it came to pictures on her own…clearly following in the footsteps of her Mummy, she is a very photogenic young lady.
I feel so blessed to be welcomed into peoples homes at such a precious time in their lives and as I saw Ricky and Natalie embrace their daughter with a quiet hush of adoration I was reminded of the saying ‘Babies are always more trouble than you thought – and more wonderful.’ Charles Osgood
