I’m a little bit ashamed to admit that it took four years for Karen and I to get around to having a cuppa together…it’s even more shameful as she is my neighbour. As we sat drinking tea and eating cream cakes (see? cream cakes?! we were destined to be buddies?!) I was quietly mortified that it had taken us so long to get to know one another…and delighted that Karen had bridged the gap and contacted me about photography.
After discussing the various pro’s and con’s of the new Whiteley Shopping Centre (What am I saying? There is going to be a River Island, M&S food hall and Prezzo! I can’t see any cons!) talking about our cats and generally getting to know one another, we finally turned our talk to photography. Having realised that there were hardly any pictures of her around the family home, Karen decided that it was time to remedy the problem in time for her Mum’s birthday…this is where I came along!
After Sarah, my genius go-to make-up guru had paid her a visit, Karen (accompanied by her good friend Di for moral support!) braved the seafront at Netley, Southampton for a very chilly lifestyle session. I have to say, I was incredibly impressed not only with how natural she was in front of the camera but with her ability not to look like she’s absolutely freezing!!!
Karen, thank you for being an avid Cole Portfolio stalker (her words not mine!) thank you for braving the weather and allowing me to photograph your gorgeousness and thank you for forgiving my lack of hospitality for the last four years….just try and get rid of me now!
