When you love two people as much as I love Laura and Dave, there is never a doubt that you are going to have an amazing time sharing their wedding day with them and Kingscote Barn was the perfect setting for their beautiful winter wedding in November.

These guys chose to marry here because, regardless of the weather, there was space to entertain without anyone feeling cramped.  From the main barn and mezzanine to the reception area and bar…you have the run of the place and there is gorgeous accommodation to boot!  It was just as well they had kept the weather in mind as it’s fair to say, it wasn’t on our side.

Nothing dampened the day though and there were smiles aplenty from every angle as we meandered our way around the venue to capture everyone getting ready and the ceremony room being set up.

We are fortunate to have been friends with Laura and Dave for some years but this occasion served to remind me why it’s so important to get to know your wedding photographer…we felt like one of the family and were made so incredibly welcome, it was hard to believe we were actually working!  As such, the crowd around us relaxed and we were able to document the day without any of the stiffness and awkwardness that is so often the case on these occasions.  A full day of laughter, genuine smiles and total silliness…I’ve saved some of those just for Laura and Dave’s collection!

From University neighbours to Husband and Wife, the foundations of an amazing marriage have been made and I’m so pleased to have been part of their journey.

If you’re thinking of a cosy, luxury, intimate wedding, there is no place better to host your day than Hill Place in Swanmore, Hampshire. Whichever room you are in, whatever vantage point you have, there is beauty, charm and endless photographic opportunities.

Marzena and Jose were so taken by the place that they travelled from their home, in London, to celebrate their nuptials in this beautiful country house. Family and friends joined them from around the world to witness their love as they promised to share their live’s with one another…it was a very special day indeed.

This gorgeous wedding, in September of last year, was inspired by 1920’s vintage charm, the stunning floral touches were echoed around the house in the bouquets and table centres and the personal touches that touched on Marzena’s Polish roots were beautiful.  I listened in amazement as the speeches were translated at record speed to keep family in the loop, I was touched by the little customs that were acknowledged along the way and at the end of the evening, following their beautifully choreographed first dance, a very talented friend of theirs picked up a guitar and played for them.  Watching them dance to the incredible sound of his voice as he played…well…it gives me goosebumps now just remembering..

Oh my gosh! It’s December! How? How is it the run up to Christmas already?! I have lots of blogs to get online so I’m going to keep the words short and let the pictures do the talking…. but…

Nicki and I have been friends for years so I need to add a few words! Some time ago, Nicki told me that when she married, she would love it if I could be the one to document the day, it goes without saying that I hoped that this would be the case too. Well, when Chris proposed (under a sky of fireworks surrounded by their nearest and dearest….can I hear an ahhhh!) Nicki got in touch and reiterated her question…as if wild horses could have stopped me!

On a beautiful day in September, Nicki and Chris promised their lives to one another at Three Choirs Vineyard in Wickham. Under the bluest of skies and with emotions running high, they made their vows to one another…with only a minor interruption from a wasp that was set on investigating Nicki’s veil!

Their wedding was the perfect blend of traditional solemnity, personal touches and utter silliness…I’ve never before asked the Grooms men and Bridesmaids at a wedding to give me their crazy faces but these guys were totally up for it!

Nicki and Chris are not only two of the lovliest people you could ever wish to meet but they really do know how to have fun! Thank you, guys, for inviting me to be a part of your day. I hope you’re having an amazing ‘travel moon’ (Yup! They recently set off to explore a little more of the world!) and I can’t wait to catch up with you when you get back.

On this grizzly wet and grey November day, I thought it was about time that I caught up with myself and got a blog online!

I shall keep this brief as a) I’m desperately trying to catch up with myself whilst the children aren’t around and b) if I’m totally honest, I could just sum this blog up with ‘Wow. What a lovely day this was!’…but perhaps that would be too brief! 🙂

Giles and Lizzie spent the morning of their wedding getting ready at their family homes and whilst I can’t speak for the men, the atmosphere at Lizzie’s was unlike any I’d ever come across. There was a strong sense of calm and belonging which I found really soothing and quite amazing considering all that was going on…amidst nail painting, the giving of gifts and the making of bouquets (yes, Lizzie’s mother was in the kitchen making up the bouquets on the morning of the wedding! Amazing!) the family gathered together for a few words and a prayer from the Father of the Bride…it was such a lovely moment. When time got tight, the Bridesmaids chipped in with making the bouquets but still the atmosphere remained happy and relaxed…with only a slight panic about the time right at the last minute!!

Lizzie and Giles married at their family Church in Highfield, Southampton and I was moved beyond words by the atmosphere during the ceremony. This was a day that really celebrated the coming together of two families, the unity of Lizzie and Giles and their commitment to their faith. They also chose some of the most uplifting Hymns I know so I had the chance to sing along with gusto…and those who know me will know that I LOVE that!

After a light lunch with friends and family at the church, Lizzie and Giles moved on to The Beaulieu Hotel in The New Forest, to celebrate further in the warm sunshine! I know, warm sunshine, it’s like a distant dream isn’t it? Live music, canapes and celebratory drinks mingled with the sounds of chatter and laughter and honestly, it really was the perfect setting…I’m so pleased the rain held off!!

Thank you, Lizzie and Giles, we were so touched by the warmth and kindness of your family and guests, we felt thoroughly taken care of.
