Allow me to introduce the couple featured on today’s blog….
Russ is very specific about how he likes his tea, he’s an amazing passenger on long car journeys (he writes quizzes to keep Alex entertained!) and secretly gets a little bit teary eyed in emotional situations…Ok, that last one isn’t really a secret! 🙂
Alex shares my love of double cream on cereal (and agrees that on Frosties it is an utterly award-winning combination!) she admits herself that she’s a very bad car passenger (which makes their union all the more perfect in my eyes) and she loves making brownies for her friends…but sometimes accidentally eats them herself…
As I sat around Alex & Russ’ dining room table discussing radio channels, chickenpox and our thoughts on hot drinks (Russ and I are all in favour, Alex sticks to refrigerated fizz) I watched them together…how Alex got a mug out for Russ’ cuppa and cheekily pointed out to him how thoughtful she was and how he smiled to himself as he saw the beautiful images of his wife appear in the photo slideshow of their day. But it was the way they held hands, leant in to one another and locked eyes as they remembered the special moments in their big day…if there had been any more love in the room, the doors would surely have burst off their hinges.
Photographing Alex and Russ (and their gorgeous son, Zac) has been a privilege I’ve had several times but watching my new friends marry, my heart felt like bursting with happiness for them. If such a wonderful day was not enough, they’ve a whole new journey about to start as they are expecting a baby girl and I can’t wait to see the joy and happiness that the four of them share together over the coming years.
