I’m finding this blog surprisingly difficult to write! Not because I have nothing to say but more because there is so much I could tell you about this day that I simply don’t know where to begin!
How about I keep it simple? Sarah and Brendan would convince even the most pessimistic of people that true love exists. They actually seem to radiate sunshine…yup…sunshine. They are ridiculously caring and when it comes to animals, they just can’t seem to help themselves…the table names at their weddings were imaginatively named after their veritable menagerie of pets; with Sarah and Brendan being seated on “The Ark”. Whilst their day was obviously important to them, they didn’t seem to lose sight of what was important, in fact, it’s rare to have met a couple that seemed so laid back about a the whole affair!
The day itself was a beautiful spectacle of rustic charm; sunflowers added bright splashes of colour at every turn and were accented perfectly with blue. When I walked into the fabulous converted stables at Bignor Park, I was almost floored by how fantastic the room looked. Gemma at Distinctly Yours collaborated with Sarah and Brendan to create a seriously stunning space to celebrate in…I could have spent hours photographing everything! As the weather was a little irksome, I was amazed to find that these guys had thought ahead and knowing the typical British weather, had hired a transparent marquee to fit within the courtyard of the stables…it was an idea of absolute genius!
This was a day that was sprinkled with personal touches, from the little pouch of sentimental items that Sarah carried with her, to the most heart warming (tear jerking) speeches I’ve ever heard and a visit from Sarah’s best friend, her stunning horse! It was a wedding unlike one I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing before. When the time came for them to join each other on the dance floor, they (and I!) were wowed by the talent of MOBO award winner Esco Williams and the crowd went wild. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t want to leave the party!
After I’d said my goodbyes and tiptoed away from the dance floor I couldn’t help but take a sneaky glance back over my shoulder to catch one last look at this gorgeous couple, utterly in love, dancing under the stars.
