I loved this photo shoot! When Nicky cautiously asked whether I might do some photo’s as a surprise for her husband-to-be, I was delighted! Boudoir photography is something I’ve wanted to try for a while but it takes a certain amount of pluckiness to suggest that clients get their kit off! Nicky was fantastic! Not only is she very lovely and great fun to be around but whether she realises it or not (I’m thinking not) she’s a natural in front of the camera.
The aim of boudoir photography is to feel gorgeous and in my mind, to have fun. Nicky admitted she was nervous but really, had nothing to worry about! With help from my trusty assistant (Nicky’s friend Jodie…on hand for moral support!) we pottered from room to room and tried various different looks and poses…the only moment where I thought Nicky might be fazed was when I went to open the front door (to allow a little more light into the hallway) and found an old guy stood directly outside the house. Needless to say, I performed a human shield manoeuvre to shield a giggling Nicky!*
I’m always delighted when my clients opt to have their make-up done before a shoot. The additional confidence that this affords them, knowing that they look their best, helps them to relax and enjoy the shoot that much more. This was the case for Nicky whose gorgeous smoky-eye’d make up was created by the very talented Sarah Keenan. Beautiful lady, thank you for a great photo shoot…there is no doubt that you look fantastic!
Ladies…there is nothing like seeing yourself looking fantastic to boost your self esteem. If you or someone you know are considering a boudoir photo-shoot, share this blog with them on Facebook or Twitter…I’d love to hear from you.**
